DARTH (what rhymes with) MAUL series Lunch Bags - 2014

I started this new series of of 'rhyming' lunch bags with DARTH MAUL. Eventually I would have run out of rhyming words, but I kept it going for a few days till I had to change it up and do something else. For a moment, I felt a little like Dr. Suess.
This one is "Darth Fall" and..

"Darth Ball" and...
 "Darth Small" and..
 "Darth Tall" and...
"Darth Wall" and...
I never got to the rest.

AT-AT and R2-D2 (Attack of the Silhouette Series Lunch Bags) - Summer 2014

AT-AT for the oldest and R2 for the youngest. Once I came up with the silhouette concept I was able to get to bed a little earlier. It was fun to do. I would have carried on doing more of them, but I didn't want the boys to get bored.

IG-88 and 3PO (The silhouette series) Lunch Bags - Summer 2014

There was a week where I did mostly these silhouette lunch bags. The object or character just needed a place that light came out of to make it effective. I found these were much quicker to do for the obvious fact that I didn't have to draw all the details. I went through a lot more black Sharpies though.

He's kind of intimidating, I have to say.

I have no idea why I didn't do this 3PO bag the same night I did R2. ???
Perhaps I was just tired. Or it was the marker fumes.

SAND PEOPLE (Or, Tusken Raiders) Lunch Bags - Summer 2014

I have no idea where this idea came from... it just sort of popped in there when I decided to create two different STAR WARS Sand People bags. You gotta figure, the Banthas had to start out small and kind of cute, right?  See, the Sand People aren't all bad!?!
The Tusken Raider 'sand' joke. I doodled it and I thought it was mildy funny. Well, funny enough for a 10 year-old. So, a lunch bag it became.
The sketches that led to the bag.

First Day of Camp 2014 - Stanley Cup Winning Kings! Lunch Bags

The first day of Tom Sawyer Camp 2014 was two days after our LA Kings won the Stanley Cup! So, in honor of that historic 2nd cup win in 3 years, I did these two bags that connect: Captain Dustin Brown and Defenseman Drew Doughty. I threw in the little Star Wars heads at the bottom for good measure. I don't know why the kids didn't realize the bags connected until later that day (even though they were sitting on the dining room table that way when they woke up in the morning.) Busy nights ahead, but the first two bags are done.
